"I CREATE" EVS PROJECT 
1st - 31st August 2009, Oradea, Romania
Theme: to promote active youth participation in community life trough healthy life style and creativite participation.
Aim: This activity aims to develop young people social and civic competence which is includes the development of their intercultural and interpersonal competences and cover all forms of behavior that equips young people in an effective and constructive way in their social and working life. The development of the social and civic competence in young people increase their participation in the community life and contributes toward the creation of the participative and democratic society.
Preparation phase: The preparation phase consists of 12 weeks preparation work and fundraising for the young people to be prepared for their European Experiences. Some of the work undertaken are, Health and Safety, Risk Assessment, Language training, Do's and Don'ts abroad, Cultural Awareness, Budgeting, Fundraising for the project equipment.

The objectives of the project:
1. Using EVS volunteers creativity to redecorate social facility for disabled children and people, by painting and decoration activities in group volunteering work with local young people group and beneficiary family members;
2. Using nonformal activities among local volunteers and EVS volunteers as self development tool and creativity developement.
Implementation phase:
During the implementation phase of the activity volunteers will be involved in the redecoration process of rooms in the "MS Centre", „Childen Hospital" or other local social facility of Oradea.
Volunteer's role in this activity will be to provide support in the redecoration process of thise social facilities. This room redecoration project, we see as an opportunity for volunteers to learn practical skills for them selfs, by doing a service for the community. Besides the practical skills that these young people will learn, they will develop their intercultural competences and communication skills by working in multicultural team
Volunteers tasks during the activity:
to clean the room walls and sealing and prepare for plastering;
to plaster room walls and sealing;
to paint the room walls and sealing;
to clean the room and prepare for the furniture;
to bring the planed furniture in the room;
During the implementation process of these activities volunteers will work together with the person who is professional in redecoration activities and he/she will guide volunteers in the implementation process of their tasks. The support person will as well provide volunteers with necessary training and explanations that volunteers will require in order to successfully fulfill their tasks.

Practical arrangements:
Volunteer working day will be scheduled from 10:00 - 17:00 with 1h of lunch break from 13:00 - 14:00.
Volunteers work 5 working days per week and they had the weekends free. During the weekends, host organization offerd volunteers possibility to visit other parts and cities in Bihor county and Romania.
The lunch was provided in the volunteer working place by the food catering company or other solution after group decision. The menu of the each working day will be agreed with the food catering company in advance based on the needs of the group and on special dietary needs. In this way hosting organization can take into consideration the dietary needs (if they exist) of volunteers.
For the breakfast and the dinner volunteers receive money on hands, so this give them the opportunity to arrange their eating time according to their habits. The group mentor introduced volunteers with the location of the supermarkets and market in the city, so the volunteer can conduct the shopping according to their needs.
Volunteer's accommodation was in the appartment, that is equipped with the kitchen which gives the opportunity for volunteers to cook for themselves.
The accomodation is non-smoking non-alcoholic building that provide volunteers with 2 bed/room, which includes shower and WC in the appartment. For the volunteers, who are smokers, the appartment provides this opportunity only on the balcony, if there is one, or on the coridor of the blockbuilding. See pictures of the accomodation hire
