This one is for independent and loving children volunteers, for volunteers who are not afraid of children who sometimes are aggressive becouse of violence they experience in their home environment.

2008-LT-2 – Old town day care center

For volunteers who love children, are not against Christian values, and know a little bite of Italian is perfect project. The children day care center is in the monastery (in the nice nature), but Silesian sisters are very opened for all the volunteers.

2008-LT-11 – Palemonas day care center

For those volunteers who are independent, like to teach others, and know English and could teach them others, they are very suitable to this project. To teach English is obligatory (because most of Lithuanians are willing to learn it) but  volunteer can also teach French, German, Italian …

2006-LT-10 – Youth Job center

For those volunteers who would like to improve their social workers skills, and to work with 3 different target groups: elderly, children and lonely mothers. Also it’s possible to do some activities for all the target groups together.

20 MARCH 2009 The youth organisation "SOCIAL ACTION" from Vilnius ( Lithuania ) is looking for young motivated people to volunteer in social projects.

All projects start in September 2009 and continue for 8 - 12 months.

Main themes: social inclusion, youth and children risk groups, disabled people, etc.

Application dates: 1st of April and 1st of June 2009.

The mother and child shelter is located in the old town. Young girls with their babies up to 1 year have a living place, they get opportunities to learn in a school, and they have leisure activities in the shelter.

Day care centre for teenagers and children "Angel of Hope"

The project aims to empower youngster to take responsibility of success of their life. It is open youth work with teenagers. The project is placed in the old town, too.

Shelter for homeless people and ex-in-prisoners

Homeless people live in the shelter, here are also some activities proposed for them. The stuff is composed from young people who are working in an innovative way with social disadvantaged people.

Children day care centre.

The project aims to raise self-awareness and self- confidence of the children from poor backgrounds. There are many non-informal education methods used in the centre, such as games, art, discussions etc.

The pedagogy in this project is based on the principles that every person is valuable and worth respect. Moreover, a few handicapped children attend this centre, that is why one of the tasks of the project is to educate children to accept disabled people.
â–ª To look after the children ( to help them to dress, to go outside together etc.)

â–ª To create and participate in art projects with children.

â–ª To participate in a group process where children are actively communicating etc.

"Spring board"- project for delinquent youngsters

"The Open Community"- project for disabled people

The project aims to integrate disabled people into society by improving their communication, social, everyday life skills as well as organising various art activities.
â–ª To organize various handicraft workshops for disabled people

â–ª To show the example and teach ways of self occupations

â–ª To help to organise cultural events in the city and community, with the aim to give people opportunity to accept disable person etc.



Educational centre for disabled children "The Hope"

The main aim of the centre is to integrate disabled children into society by establishing conditions for children to grow up as a personalities. This is achieved by many art activities that children take part in, such as drama, music etc. therapy.

â–ª To organize any activity/ programme the potential volunteer is interested in.
